Video: DJ Drama Speaks On T.I.’s Disappointment With ‘No Mercy’s’ Potential Billboard Position

Posted 16 Dec 2010 in VIDEOS

“I’m going to be straight up honest with you guys, I didn’t think T.I. would land nowhere near at top 5 slot on the Billboard album charts with his newest LP, No Mercy. From day one, the project was plagued with delays. And to throw salt in an open wound Clifford was hit with MORE legal setbacks.

And to be EXTREMELY honest, his footing wasn’t right with the music and how it was presented. But despite alllll of that, Team Grand Hustle still managed to get that album in a good position on Billboard. So in retrospect, with everything Mr. Harris is going through, I would consider this a win. I would consider this a hard earned win seeing how EVERYTHING and EVERYONE was treating him as the underdog (including myself. And personally, I still don’t like the album…but numbers are numbers).

So when TIP returns, I hope he takes a hard LOOK at what he’s been through. I hope he’s weeded out the BULLSHIT that’s been surrounding him for the past 24 months and reshifts and refocuses on what’s most important. Because HAD this been a properly promoted project with all the bells and whistles that come along with an album release, instead of #4 he would’ve been #4. And instead of 160K buying his album, it could’ve been 400k.”
