2012 is just days away, but BAPE (A Bathing Ape) is already gearing up for the launch of the collection for the upcoming seasons. Most recently, they gave us a sneak peak of pieces from the forthcoming 2012 Spring/Summer collection.

As you can see from the product shots, the brand brings back some of their staple items such as the Shark and Sta hoodies, as well a new pieces like pea coats, an oversized hooded rain jacket, and various flannels. There’s even a new watch, inspired by Rolex’s Submariner model; some khakis and damaged denim; and a change purse and coffee thermos. -BS

Ok so this limited edition jacket retails at a whopping $5000 and Drake releases it with Canada-based outerwear brand Canada Goose. It has buffalo leather exterior, silk-lined interior, removable arctic fox fur trim, and 24-karat gold-plated hardware. This will be available at Nepenthes retailers in New York, Tokyo and Osaka, as well as Nomad in Toronto.

There’s been several previews of these over the last several weeks, but none as clear as this.

HypeBeast.com recently got a clear look at the upcoming white/cement grey retro of the Air Jordan IV, who calls it “arguably one of the more anticipated releases of 2012.”

It features many of the same characteristics that of the original from 1999. However, it boasts a a darker shade of grey and Jumpman heel detail.

Further detailing should surface as a release date nears.

Long running shoe brand Reebok is set to launch their new “Blast” sneaker in December, bringing back the style from the past.

The Blast is inspired by the original 1990′s version of the shoe, bringing “a refreshed, on-court look to the street,” a rep for the company says.

Aptly named for its distinctive flared heel design, the Blast also features Hexalite technology for better cushioning and a premium leather upper.

The shoe hits stores some in December, will retail for $95, and will be available at JimmyJazz.com, Villa and Finish Line retailers. -Baller Status

So one of the hypbeasts’ favorite pair of kicks is rumored to be getting a mash-up version in the vein of the Nike “What The Dunks?” from a few years back. Chatter and flicks have been floating around the Internets indicating that the Nike Foamposite One’s are getting their own “What The Foams?” edition picture above. Supposedly these will be releases as a quickstrike. What are your thoughts, flee or fugly?

Check out this short promo clip for the Nike Mag sneakers inspired by the cult-classic film Back To The  Future” currently being auctioned on eBay in support of Parkinson’s Disease research. The clip stars the Orlando Magic’s Kevin Durant and SNL’s Bill Hader. Nike has released a limited 150 pairs which are going for around $40,000 each.

Porno star Rachel Starr is featured in a new ad for SneakerShields, a product meant to prevent/ limit creasing in your kicks. They look like they work but you can watch this on mute and still see all the valuable assets this product has to offer. Whoever does their marketing, that guy wins.

It’s always nice to look at a well crafted sneaker and appreciate its appearance, but what about the story behind it? Where did the concept come from? How many designs were there before the one you see before you? I personally find this type of stuff real interesting. In celebration of the one-year anniversary of their flagship store in Hawaii, popular clothing brand Crooks & Castles are dropping a commemorative release they have dubbed the “Aloha” pack.

The pack includes a One-Year “Aloha” hat and tee release, both limited edition. The snapback comes in red, and has white letter that says “Aloha” on the front, “Crooks Hawaii” on the back, and has trademark New Era logo on the left side. The tee comes in white, and also says “Aloha” along with the text “YR. No1″ and Crooks & Castles Honolulu.

The pack’s retail price was unknown at press time.

However, they will drop on Friday (September 2) at Crooks’ Hawaii Flagship store (more…)
