TUGE steps back out of the dugout and swings for the fences on his latest joint, “9th Inning.” The New York beat bully line drives rhymes with witty references to America’s favorite pastime while calling out the competition over some cinematic production from J. Cardim. Always the comedian in his music, the rapper makes use of a braggadocious monologue from fictional ball player “Kenny Powers” to up his latest track’s entertainment factor up a few notches. With a season’s worth of highlight cuts already in rotation, TUGE’s anticipated new project Ignorant Elegance is rounding third and should be sliding into home soon.

Australian-born singer Josh Jakq is back with a follow up to his “Freak Some More” single featuring CyHi The Prynce. On his latest song, “See You Later,” the smooth vocalist swoons over some trance-inducing production for a number that will inevitably end up on your after dark/between the sheets playlist. While he continues to elevate his buzz Stateside, Josh has already received a major cosign from fellow Australian and multi-platinum recording artist, Gotye. Lookout for his debut project featuring production from KiD CuDi’s right hand sound-crafter Dot Da Genius.

Fat Joe lets a new joint go with some guest appearances from 2 of the most sought after features in rap these days, 2 Chainz and French Montana. On “No Countrey” Joey Crack delivers a verse riddled with sports references and predictable punchlines while French for some goon talk and 2 Chainz rhymes about pushin’ rocks and paper chasin’. This joint much a formulaic collab that unfortunately doesn’t bring out the best in any of the three emcees. But by all means, press play if you just want something ignant to get your evening underway.

REKS dropped his album Straight, No Chaser with producer Statik Selektah last night and lets go of “Riggs & Murtaugh” featuring Action Bronson to intrigue some listeners. The album also features guest appearances from Massachusetts spitta’s Slaine and Termanology. Statik Selektah’s label is set to embark on its first Canadian tour starting May 2nd in Montreal.
