Most of the hip-hop world has already heard about it, but if not, Tyga was involved in a shooting in Omaha, Nebraska on Monday night (March 19) … after becoming irate with a few members at his show when they continued to throw debris on stage.
The YMCMB rapper was angry over the disrespectful acts, and snapped, ultimately challenging the concertgoers to “see him outside” after he finished his performance.
While a physical altercation never took place, the unnamed members of the audience watched Tyga and his entourage exit the venue and followed their vehicles when they left, and eventually opened fire.
A bus and trailer was hit at least 15 times, leaving Tyga’s protege Honey Cocaine, along with one other, hit with gunshot wounds. Fortunately, both victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and are now ok.
The Los Angeles-bred rapper called into Los Angeles’ Power 106 radio show Wednesday afternoon (March 21) to explain what happened.
During the interview, he tells radio personality Yesi Ortiz that the shooting was the result of a on-going situation that started earlier in the day. Apparently, the rowdy members of the audience were local artists who were supposed to open for Tyga, but didn’t.
“This is something that doesn’t happen. These aren’t fans,” Tyga revealed. “This situation escalated because I wanted to do the show. I was dealing with the same people from the beginning of the day, before the show even started. Like they wanted to cancel the show — it was just a bunch of drama going on already. That was like the fourth situation.
“It was some people that was supposed to perform, like some local opening acts. I told them they couldn’t perform, because it’s a tour. I don’t want no opening acts performing .. Like I said, those weren’t fans.”
