”There’s a misunderstanding with my fanbase,” he says. ”People [at Warner] feel they know my fans more than I do. They want me to step out of my comfort zone and step into theirs. I don’t have necessarily the celebrity success they want me to have but it’s more social success and being able to speak at a college about world affairs. That’s a success, to me.
”I don’t want to be Jay-Z and be worth $400 million and perform on every awards show. It’s getting in touch with somebody who needs to improve their self-esteem. As opposed to driving a Bentley and putting some chains on.”
Sounds like Lupe is in it for more then the money and the amenities of fame. I however would probably run with the 400 mil and the Bentley. Sorry Lupe!

A Florida woman has sued rapper 50 Cent in Manhattan, claiming he unlawfully distributed her homemade sex tape over the Internet after editing himself into it as a wig-wearing narrator.
Lastonia Leviston filed a lawsuit on Wednesday in Manhattan claiming unauthorized use of her name or image as well as emotional distress caused by the public release of the tape she made with a lover in 2008.
The lawsuit claims that 50 Cent posted the video on his Web site in 2009 after blurring out the lover’s face.
It also claims that the rapper introduces the video while wearing a curly wig and fluffy blue robe. He can be heard narrating throughout.
The rapper’s real name is Curtis Jackson. His lawyer didn’t immediately respond to a phone message.
Sidebar: In some other semi 50Cent related news, the picture you’re looking at above is from the cover of a new magazine centered around Hip-Hop photography. Respect is a photo journal for Hip-Hop culture that pays tribute to the other rock stars who have gone unnoticed or not gotten the recognition they deserve. The magazine is available at all Barns and Noble and Borders Bookstore.
50 Cent x Things Fall Apart. 50 Cent will star in the Mario VanPeebles produced drama Things Fall Apart where he will play a college football star running back who is stricken with cancer. According to Variety 50 will shed over sixty pounds for the role.

“Fifty is in the process of losing 65 pounds” for the role,” the film’s co-producer, Randall Emmett told Daily Variety.
We would expect this type of dedication for someone maybe like Christian Bale like in American Psycho, but for 50 Cent to lose that much weight for an acting role just shows his dedication to the art and his desire to be taken as a serious actor and not cast in “rap/thug” stereotypical roles.
Things Fall Apart will be produced under 50’s Cheetah Vision production company and will seek a major film distributor in the coming months. This should be an interesting one and at the least will make for some great publicity for 50 Cent Curtis Jackson the actor.

Known for their connections to Diddy, Fabolous and famed hip-hop jeweler Jacob the Jeweler, none of these relationships compared to BMF’s link to Young Jeezy.
Written by Mara Shalhoup, the editor-in-chief of Atlanta-based publication Creative Loafing, BMF specifically offers insight into the Black Mafia Family’s role in Jeezy’s career.
