Rihanna finally takes the cover of music’s biggest magazine, Rolling Stone. The “Queen Of Pain”,the name Rolling Stone has dubbed her with, talks about all her recent events and music. All I can say about this issue is that Rolling Stone is going to make a killing just off the cover alone when it hits news stands.
A Radio Shack in Montana is offering would-be satellite television customers a bit more bang for their buck.
The Ravalli Republic reports customers who sign up for some Dish Network packages at Radio Shack in Hamilton will be rewarded with a pistol or shotgun. Those not interested in the gun offer can pick a $50 Pizza Hut gift card.
Store owner Steve Strand says it took some haggling to get Dish Network to go along with the promotion, but he says it has tripled his business since it started last October.
The promotion includes a coupon for a gun and the required background check.
Strand says he plans to start the same promotion next month with DIRECTV packages.
TV and radio personality DJ Megatron was fatally shot on Staten Island early Sunday morning, authorities and a family member said.
Witnesses heard a single shot at about 2 a.m. in the Clifton section of Staten Island. Megatron was pronounced dead on the scene a short time later from a gun shot to his stomach.
Law enforcement officials would not immediately confirm his identity and said they were investigating the shooting.
Keith Robinson, who identified himself as Megatron’s father-in-law, said his family was distraught.
“He was a good person,” Robinson said, visibly upset, “Everyone’s just shocked.”
The Staten Island performer, originally from Pennsylvania, was a regular on BET’s “106th and Park,” and also was heard on HOT 97.
A friend who arrived at the scene at about 4 a.m. said she talked to him a few hours earlier.
“He just called me,” Lisa Torres said, “He asked me if I was going to [a friend's] party.”
She became inconsolable as the news sank in.
“He’s right there on the ground. I can’t believe this,” she screamed as she broke down in tears. “You’re lying, you’re lying!That’s not Megatron right there!”- Daily News

LONDON—In a dramatic end to one of the most disastrous leveraged buyouts of last decade’s deal boom, Citigroup Inc. seized EMI Group Ltd. from financier Guy Hands’s Terra Firma Capital Partners LP in a move that is expected to kick off an auction of the storied music company.
Terra Firma bought EMI in 2007, largely using a loan from Citigroup that eventually was too much for the private-equity firm to manage. Now, EMI said in a statement Tuesday, Citigroup has acquired 100% of its shares and slashed the company’s debt to £1.2 billion ($1.92 billion) from £3.4 billion. The timing is somewhat surprising, as Citigroup wasn’t expected to officially foreclose on debt-laden EMI for five months.
Terra Firma and its founder, Mr. Hands, weren’t aware of Citigroup’s decision to take over the company until shortly before the move was announced, a person familiar with the matter said.
Citigroup engineered the takeover by putting EMI’s parent company, known as Maltby Investments Ltd., into administration, the rough U.K. equivalent of bankruptcy. It was able to do so because—even though EMI hasn’t breached loan covenants yet—the company is already insolvent, given that Terra Firma’s equity has been wiped out.

Mr. Hands took over EMI intending to refashion it for the future. Following the £2.4 billion purchase, Mr. Hands set out to eliminate waste and institute a more business-driven culture at EMI. But a number of prominent artists such as Radiohead chafed under the new ownership and left the label. AT&T and Deutsche Telekom have entered into a definitive agreement for the sale of T-Mobile USA for $39 billion in cash and stocks. The combined customer base of this upcoming behemoth will be 130 million humans, though the agreed deal will have to pass the usual regulatory and closing hurdles before becoming complete. The two companies estimate it’ll take them 12 months to get through all the bureaucracy — if they get through, the proposed network merger will create a de facto GSM monopoly within the United States — but we don’t have to wait that long to start discussing life with only three major US carriers. AT&T envisions it as a rosy garden of “straightforward synergies” thanks to a set of “complementary network technologies, spectrum positions and operations.”
One of the other big benefits AT&T is claiming here is a significantly expanded LTE footprint — 95 percent of Americans, or 294 million pops — which works out to 46.5 million more than AT&T was claiming had it gone LTE alone. Of course, T-Mobile has never put forth a clear strategy for migrating to LTE, suggesting that AT&T plans on using the company’s AWS spectrum to complement its own 700MHz licenses as it moves to 4G. You might be groaning at the thought of yet another LTE band, but it’s not as bad as you might think: MetroPCS already has a live LTE network functioning on AWS, so there’s precedent for it. In the event of the deal failing to receive regulatory approval, AT&T will be on the hook for $3 billion to T-Mobile — a breakup fee, they call it — along with transferring over some AWS spectrum it doesn’t need for its LTE rollout, and granting T-Mo a roaming agreement at a value agreeable to both parties. -EG View the Official Press Release Here.
