According to the source, Grunwald has had just one conversation with Anthony since he became GM. And D’Antoni rarely talks to Anthony after games, especially since Anthony’s return from a groin injury. The Knicks have lost 8 of 10 games since then to fall to 18-24 and out of playoff position.

Anthony is not close to owner James Dolan the way Amar’e Stoudemire is. The source said Anthony gets along best with assistant GM Allan Houston, who eventually could succeed Grunwald.

“He knows Glen doesn’t like him,’’ the source said.

It would seem unlikely — and ill-advised — for the Knicks to pull off a trade for Anthony on such short notice before Thursday’s deadline.

Though Stoudemire lobbied for the Knicks to trade for Anthony, the pair’s friendship has not flourished.

“They’re not as close as people think they are,’’ the source said. “It’s an awkward relationship.’’

Comedian Bill Maher drew the ire of Tim Tebow fans and Christians over the weekend after a profane tweet reveling in the Broncos’ blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills.

“Wow, Jesus just f***ed #TimTebow bad! And on Xmas Eve! Somewhere … Satan is tebowing, saying to Hitler “Hey, Buffalo’s killing them,” Maher tweeted.

Tebow, whose team suffered its second straight loss after a six-game winning streak, did not respond to Maher’s tweet.

After the disappointing 40-14 road loss, Tebow tweeted, “Tough game today but what’s most important is being able to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas everyone GB2.”

It had been widely known that hall of fame boxer Joe Frazier had been battling liver cancer as of late and this past weekend it was reported that his condition had worsened and he had to be admitted to the hospital. Frazier is recognized by sports fans around the world as one of the best pound-for-pound heavyweight fighters to ever  step in the ring, finishing his career with a record of 27 wins, 4 losses, and 1 draw.

Sadly, tonight the tragic news broke that the very first man to ever defeat Muhammad Ali in the ring has passed away at the age of 67 after toughing out with one last opponent, his cancer. His family issued the following statement this evening:

“We The Family of … Smokin’ Joe Frazier, regret to inform you of his passing… He transitioned from this life as ‘One of God’s Men,’ on the eve of November 7, 2011 at his home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.”

Rest In Peace Smokin’ Joe Frazier.
