Movie Trailer: X-Men: First Class (Trailer #2)

Posted 23 Apr 2011 in Movies, Trailers

This summer will be loaded with comic book cinema and who’s not hyped for that? X-Men: First Class takes us to the origins of the X-Men, more specifically the relationship between Professor X and Magneto. While a lot of the beloved mutants don’t appear until later chapters of Marvel lure, fans will get to see faces that the previous flicks missed including Hank McCoy aka Beast, Havok (Cyclops’ brother) and Banshee. This trailer looks pretty good, let’s hope Hollywood didn’t screw this one up (The Hulk *cough* Daredevil *cough, cough*). X-Men: First Class is in theaters June 3rd.

Trailer: Conan The Barbarian (2011)

The iconic barbarian from the continent Hyboria made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s portrayal is making a return to the silver screen this summer. The action flick is slated for an August release and will be a 3D experience. The cast will features Ron Perlman and Rose McGowan but is mostly compiled of unknowns and newcomers. It’s been almost 20 years since the original film so let’s hope technology allows for a much more gruesome telling of the barbarian’s story this go around.

“X-Men First Class,” charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

X-Men First Class hit’s theaters June 3rd.

Two things are for certain about this movie: 1) This movie will not have any major backing and 2) This movie will never see the light of day in your local movie theatre- but it ain’t about that! This movie summarizes a Chi-Town (and Hip-Hop) legend. You all already know this Midwest thang is serious with me, so for me to not purchase this would be absurd.

Looks like Yeezy’s Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy has come to life. The wait is over. Enjoy!

Punch’s Interjection: I think this short film is utter brilliance. Oh and we’re not even going to begin talking about that track that opens the film. I mean, RZA and Kanye on one beat? forget about it. There’s some points in the flick were I don’t know what the Hell is going on- I mean I know what’s going on, but I can’t really understand or objectively explain the plot, rather. I like the filter they used when editing the footage too. It’s dope that it’s not really HD quality, it gives it kind of a timeless feel. Also, notice how Kanye rarely smiles during the movie. Matter of fact, the only time he smiles is when he was at the table with his family and was watching the phoenix/his girlfriend try to adapt to her surroundings. Look, it’s Saturday and I don’t feel like talking your head off. Watch it, enjoy it, and tell me what you think.
