pusha t Music News: Pusha T Signs Solo Deal with Def Jam
One half of The Clipse, Pusha T has officially inked his solo deal with Def Jam Records through G.O.O.D Music. To comment on the deal Pusha openly stated, “Solidifying my first solo venture, G.O.O.D Music/DefJam is my home. That machine with my creativity is gonna make for satisfied hiphop fans.”

With the Def Jam machine now behind him, fans can look forward to Fear of God 2: Let Us Pray coming soon followed by a solo album with a release date still TBD.

G.O.O.D. Music’s super-producer No I.D. has been given the position of Vice President at Def Jam Records, complimenting the many recent successes of the G.O.O.D. Music roster. Issuing a statement to Billboard, the acclaimed producer who manned most of Big Sean’s debut made the news public at ASCAP’s Rhythm and Soul team’s pre-VMAs Bowling Mixer last night in Holywood.He had this to say about his new gig, “I’m (now) executive VP of Def Jam. I’m going to keep on doing what I’m doing and take it to another level… Def Jam is a cultural staple. It’s not just a label, it’s part of the culture that I came up in and that I’ve been involved with for 20 years. It’s very important that the next generation of executives grab it by the horns and keep it on track as it grows.”

The house that Russell and Rick built (Def Jam) present us with a video series which takes viewers inside the inner workings and history of the first and last great hip-hop record label, Def Jam. In this first episode of the series co-founder Russell Simmons discusses how he met his partner Rick Rubin and how the label got it’s start. Future episodes are set to include notable Def Jam acts such as LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Public Enemy and The Beastie Boys. This video series comes in light of the book about Def Jam’s first quarter century in existence is also on its way to stores this September.

Young Jeezy Live In NYC Presented By The Source x Def Jam [Video recap]

Here is a video recap of the very special Young Jeezy concert live from the Highline Ballroom in NYC last night. The show was presented by The Source magazine and Def Jam and included guest performers Jay-Z, Kanye West, Fabolous, Bun B, and The L.O.X. It was definitely an awesome night as hip-hop fans got to celebrate the return of the snowman. At the end of the show Jeezy announced that his highly anticipated album TM103 will be available on September 20th. Cheaaaa!
