For the cover of their April/May issue, XXL magazine opted to feature a live performance shot of one of arguably the rap game’s top dog, Lil Wayne. In the cover story Weezy discusses his favorite tour moments, pre-show rituals, tips he gives to his young YMCMB artists and more. The flick they used looks to be from Wayne’s DeWeezyy concert at this year’s SXSW festival. Good choice for a cover. The issue hits stands April 24th.
Derick G gives us a visual for the behind the scenes footage of H.Y.F.R. by Drake featuring Lil Wayne. I mean, usually the BTS footage comes before the video, but oh well here it is. Drake really had family members from his Jewish side all over the visual. The video was one of Drakes most memomorable; or will be his most memorable video rather.
Lil Wayne and Mac Miller are gettin that yellow 5 Coca-Cola money in the new “This Is How We DEW” commercial. Watch the ad for clips of Weezy on stage spliced with clips of skateboarders as he gives his now customary inspirational speech from his Deweezy concerts. The clip also features skateboarders Paul Rodriguez and Theodious Bailey and Nascar driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Bobby Ray unveiled the tracklist to his sophomore LP, Strange Clouds, today with an all-star guest list of mainstream music figures. The project is slated to feature Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, T.I., Trey Songz and yes, Taylor Swift. Morgan Freeman appears on the intro to the project so expect a memorable narrative from the veteran actor as well.
Having heard a bulk of this album myself, I can tell you that there are some of those big pop records that you could expect from B.o.B. as well as some more telling of the Grand Hustle artist’s lyrical stylings. Bobby should have something for everyone when the album drops on May 1st. Checkout the full tracklist after the jump.
And another one…

As promised, The Game drops his new mixtape, California Republic, with host DJ Skee and a healthy assortment of features including Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Drake, Pharrell, Lupe Fiasco, 2 Chainz, French Montana, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Shyne and Trey Songz. The project should hold over fans of the West Coast emcee until the arrival of his fifth studio LP, F.I.V.E., later this year. Get the download link and tracklist after the jump.

Cash Money Records, the label that Birdman built alongside his brother Slim and hip-hop superstar Lil Wayne, has been accused of failing to pay royalties … again.
According to Courthouse News Service, music giant EMI filed a lawsuit against Cash Money Records in a Manhattan court recently, alleging that the label has failed to pay royalties for various samples they’ve used from their catalog.
Cash Money owes more than $491,000 in royalties, and has ceased making quarterly payments to EMI. So, they were forced to file suit, according to court docs.
“Because [Cash Money Records] has ignored numerous communications from EMI regarding [Cash Money's] contractual obligations, EMI once more is being forced to commence a lawsuit against [Cash Money Records] to recover royalty payments,” the complaint states. “The sales of [Cash Money Records'] products have far exceeded the payments that EMI has received.
“It is clear from [Cash Money's] conduct that it has no intention of honoring the Agreement,” the complaint continues.
The lawsuit from EMI is just the latest in a long list of legal actions taken against the label for the exact same complaint over the years, specifically from producers who claim they were never compensated for their contributions to various Cash Money releases.
Previous artists who’ve filed suit include producer Bangladesh, producer T-Mix, Done Deal Enterprises, producer David Kirkwood, Bridgeport Music, “Lollipop” producer Deezle, and others.

Mystikal steps out of one expensive-ass whip and back into the rap arena as a newly-inked member of YMCMB with the first single off of his Cash Money debut, “Original.” The N’awlins vet flexes his patented flow over a beat suitable for all the spoils of moguldom that Birdman and Weezy, who appear as features, welcome him too. You might not be waking up in a mansion anytime soon but at least help yourself to the eye candy strutting up and down the marble floors for breakfast. Mystikal sounds like he’s in good form so far. Let’s see if he can keep it up leading up to the release of his LP, which is due out this summer. One Hunned *Birdman Hand Rub*
