Lupe Fiasco

While Mobb Deep fans have been singing the blues all day, Lupe Fiasco’s loyal supporters will be happy to know that the Chicago rapper has completed his third studio LP, Food & Liquor 2. Lupe went up to the Atlantic Records offices today to turn in the album and tweeted the following:

Food&Liquor2:GreatAmericanRapAlbumPt.1 is in NYC…1st label listening session….”

Lu had expressed his ambition to makes this a double album previously but there’s no confirmation as of yet if this will be a two disc effort.

As promised, The Game drops his new mixtape, California Republic, with host DJ Skee and a healthy assortment of features including Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Drake, Pharrell, Lupe Fiasco, 2 Chainz, French Montana, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Shyne and Trey Songz. Once again, I’m in the middle of a high speed chase on the Brooklyn Bridge, sooo you gotta hit the jump for the stream.

In light of “37 SHOOTINGS, 46 VICTIMS & 9 MURDERS” during Chicago’s first ‘warm’ weekend, the Trayvon travesty, 6-year old Aliyah Shell, and in honor of my cousins Ismail & Malik that were gunned down last summer…I felt as though this was the time to drop this song. Shouts to Lupe for helping me paint a vivid picture of what goes on everyday in Chicago and every other ghetto in America. Also, shouts to David ‘D.A.’ Doman & Jim LaVigne for providing us the perfect canvas to paint upon.

Special Dedication to Blair Holt and the hundreds of CPS students lost to senseless violence.

Just days after proclaiming himself the best rapper in the game, Lupe Fiasco hit the stage at the Triad Music Fest. When the power went out, Lupe proceeded to perform the first single of his career, “Kick Push,” acapella. The footage is courtesy of MissLs.

As the tweets read (bottom to top) controversial microphone activist Lupe Fiasco endorsing the swag ambassador Lil B’s new album I’m Gay (I’m Happy). While Lupe is often viewed on the side of super-lyrical, Lil B and his absurd brand of rap are viewed by many to be silly, without merit and are often labeled ignorant. Lupe however, to the surprise of many of his fans, feels otherwise. The Atlantic records recording artist stands vehemently in The Based God’s corner as is labeling him a visionary and revolutionary, which is actually what Lil b claimed his album would be. Lil B is in fact working on a collaborative project with Lupe as well as a separate one with Jay Electronica. Go figure. His I’m Gay album,  which has caused much controversy with its title, released inconspicuously last night via iTunes.

Who wins in a fight, Trey or Lupe?? I got Lupe for the Chicago in him. This record is Trademarkk approved tho.

Honestly if you put Skylar Grey on the track it’s most likely a hit. As for this Kick, Push rapper I’m truly not a fan. Aw well, Lasers in stores now.
