The Chef serves up a trailer for his upcoming mixtape, Unexpected Victory. Originally slated for an Xmas day release, the Wu-Tang rapper will now feed his fans’ iPods on New Years day.
I’m always glad to see this dude keep his relevancy and persistence. He hasn’t lost a step either.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Wu-Tang Clan Raekwon was quoted as saying that there will be a third collaboration (“Runaway Love,” “Gorgeous”) between him and Kanye West, who according to The Chef is eager to be featured on one of Rae’s tracks.
“You’re gonna see something soon with me and that guy. That guy’s on fire right now and he respects real hip-hop, he respects me. And he’s like, ‘Yo Chef, I wanna be down and I’m like, you down, you down, [laughs] so let’s just make it happen!’”
Rae is currently devating whether or not to release a Only Built For Cuban Linx III album or not, siting his fans as the reason he’s considering making OB4CL a trilogy.
“The fans are really calling for this album, so we still deciding,” he said. “Everything’s gonna happen when it’s time. Right now I’m just trying to continue to move forward in a great way. The next project that I drop out as an album will be powerful.”

All eyes were on Rock The Bells in NYC this past Saturday which featured some awesome performers delivering classic material including Raekwon and Ghostface bringing back The Chef’s Only Built For Cuban Links LP (above) and Mos Def and Talibe Kweli performing their collaborative album Black Star (ffter the jump). Salughterhouse was also in attendance and you can catch some of their set after the jump as well.

TheSource.com just premiered this new visual from NY wordsmith T.Shirt titled “Ode To Raekwon.” This kid is one of the few new emcees who stands out for bringing that vintage NY flavor in his rhymes, so it seems only ride that he tip his cap to The Chef. T.Shirt delivers some raw bars in this Japanese themed video directed by RONIN of Hotmop Films. If you appreciate the golden era of true spitters then there’s not much to dislike about this one.
