Red Cafe stopped by the KarmaloopTV offices to chop it up about working with Ryan Leslie and share his thoughts on some of the hottest new names in the rap game, Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky. “What else?,” the Bad Boy Records signee (who’s been through many-a-contract in his career), also touched on some of the mistakes he made early at the start of his career and gears us up for his debut album which will drop in the new year. Red has had some poppin records over the years so let’s hope he’s found the right situation that will help take his career to the next level. After the 106 & Park announcement that French Montana had inked with Bad Boy Records, Diddy rounded up French and the other players on his rap roster, Red Cafe and Machine Gun Kelly and took a trip down to Funkmaster Flex’s Hot 97 radio show. The three recent additions spoke live on air with Flex about why they chose to allign themselves with the iconic but sometimes controversial label. After becoming part of the Interscope umbrella and a major overhaul, it looks like Diddy’s imprint is reloaded and ready for another go at mainstream hip-hop prominence. Let’s wait and see what cards Mr. Combs decides to play first in the new year.

With the purpose of giving audiences a look ahead at what Bad Boy has in store, Diddy and DJ Prostyle host The Preview mixtape with new music from Machine Gun Kelly, Cassie and Red Cafe.

Red Cafe gives us another single from his forthcoming (and oft-delayed) debut album Cloud 9, titled “Fly Together” featuring Rick Ross and Ryan Leslie. The track, which is produced by Leslie, is more rum and punch than punchlines and reversed “redrum.” Cloud 9 is now set to drop February 14th.

Mazi O. gets behind the camera to craft visuals for Red Cafe and his frequent client, French Montana in “Black Roses.” The songs rasta sounds and kingpin talk are off of Cafe’s Above The Clouds mixtape, which is a solid project with good production and some big name features. On a sidenote, French’s Joe Montana jersey piece is crazy son.
