Video: The Source Presents Masters Of Ceremony w/ CyHi The Prynce, Emilio Rojas & TUGE

Posted 25 Jul 2011 in MUSIC

The Source.com introduces a new video series featuring both established emcees and rising stars on the mic entitled Masters of Ceremony. As a premier outlet of hip-hop culture, The Source brings back the classic art of the cypher with a bit of new school flare. The chosen artists will range in rhymestyles and often places of origin, always delivering some top notch bars to our audience. Viewers will find that these emcees have either amassed a big buzz or are just under the radar but are lyrically skilled enough to be handpicked for Masters of Ceremony by The Source staff.

The first installment of this new series is headlined by one of the most promising acts on Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music, CyHi The Prynce by way of Atlanta, Georgia. Also featured is respected Rochester, NY rapper Emilio Rojas who recently put out his well received mixtape, Life Without Shame. Rounding out the lineup is newcomer TUGE from New York, NY who is set to drop his debut to the masses, The Scrimmage, coming soon.

The Source Gives Bun B’s Trill OG 5 Mics

Posted 04 Aug 2010 in NEWS

bun b trill og final The Source Gives Bun Bs Trill OG 5 Mics

Wow, maybe it’s something I missed. Trill OG is a very dope album, but I wouldn’t say 5 Mics. To say 5 Mics means that this album is comparable to Illmatic, Aquemini, The Blueprint etc. This is the first 5 mics that have been giving to an album since Lil Kim’s 05 release, “The Naked Truth.” Do you think “Trill OG” is that good and if not which 2010 release is 5 Mics worthy?

Sidebar: The new issue of the Source drops on the 17th of this month and I encourage all of you’s to cop that. I wrote an article with Yelawolf in there that is quite ham if I say so myself.
